Desi Dance Community

Building an inclusive and supportive community, one class at a time

Desi Dance Community was created in 2022 by Amit Patel & Saffatt Al-Mansoor, with the intention of bringing together dance communities in the Bay Area and beyond. We felt the need for a community oriented dance environment within the South Asian arts community. We believe that we can elevate and diversify each other's training and artistry while continuing to pursue our own individual goals. Through the Desi Dance Community, we host weekly classes, host out of town workshops & Intensives, as well as host our own Desi Dance Convention. Our 3rd convention will be hosted in Spring 2026.

Since 2024, Desi Dance Community has existed as a project under Ishami Dance Company. We have a significant overlap in members, values, and goals and with this partnership, we can increase access to resources to grow and evolve.
